Job Responsibilities of the Director of a Higher Education Institution Branch:

-  Organize the implementation of the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, presidential decrees and orders, as well as the decisions of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) and the Cabinet of Ministers in the field of education and personnel training;

- Ensure the training of highly qualified specialists with higher education, capable of independent thinking, possessing high moral and ethical qualities, and proficient in organizational methods suited for market conditions;

- Organize the training of highly qualified personnel based on State Educational Standards;

- Ensure the implementation of the tasks outlined in the Law “On Education” and the National Program for Personnel Training of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the Urgut Branch of Samarkand State University;

- Define the responsibilities of all structural divisions within the branch, plan, coordinate, and manage their activities, prepare qualified personnel for administrative positions, select staff, recommend and appoint suitable candidates for leadership roles;

- Provide material and moral incentives, ensure social protection of employees, and apply disciplinary measures when necessary;

- Supervise the formation and effective use of the branch’s income;

- Organize scientific research activities, increase their effectiveness, and ensure the practical implementation of research results, integrating higher education, science, and production;

- Oversee the development, translation, and publication of textbooks and teaching materials in accordance with the new generation educational literature concept for the continuous education system;

- Promote the use of modern teaching methods, including distance learning, new pedagogical approaches, and information-communication technologies, ensuring their efficient application in the educational process;

- Lead spiritual, educational, and cultural activities, fostering national values among students and staff;

- Organize and oversee the admission, expulsion, reinstatement of undergraduate, master’s, and research students, as well as the observance of internal regulations;

- Ensure the professional development of faculty members;

- Create proper living, service, and working conditions for students, research trainees, and academic staff, ensuring their social well-being;

- Monitor the activities of faculties and departments, including the quality of lectures, practical and laboratory sessions, academic and industrial internships, and other forms of learning;

- Organize initiatives to determine development prospects of the fields and specializations being taught at the branch (e.g., conducting scientific-practical conferences, participating in international forums, improving access to scientific and technical literature and information), and based on this, improve state education standards, curricula, textbooks, and guide scientific research;

- Develop the branch’s marketing services, study demand for educational programs and specialties, analyze graduate employment, and organize the signing of cooperation agreements for the targeted training of specialists.

- Develop and implement measures to strengthen and improve the material and technical base of the Urgut Branch of Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov;

- Lead the University Academic Council, improve the structural organization of the university, and manage the creation, closure, or restructuring of its departments;

- Foster scientific and creative cooperation with foreign partners, ensure the attraction of investments and grants, and organize joint ventures (departments, scientific centers, research projects, etc.);

- Maintain collaborative activities with public organizations, boards of trustees, and other similar non-governmental organizations;

- Fulfill other duties assigned by the authorized bodies responsible for managing the educational process.
